ANNUAL DATA REPORT 2023
Measuring Impact. Protecting Children.
NCMEC receives tens of millions of reports annually, resulting in dense, high-volume datasets that can be overwhelming when presented in traditional report formats. The challenge was to:
Translate complex statistics into clear, digestible insights
Balance data clarity with emotional sensitivity
Design for public trust, accessibility, and credibility
Ensure the report worked seamlessly across desktop, tablet, and mobile
As Lead Designer at Creative 2, I focused on creating a system that supported storytelling through data, reinforced trust, and made the report accessible across audiences and formats. transforming complex, large-scale datasets into a clear, accessible, and emotionally resonant digital experience. The goal was to present critical national data in a way that was transparent, human-centered, and easy to understand, while maintaining the gravity and sensitivity of the subject matter.
This report supports NCMEC’s mission by helping policymakers, law enforcement, partners, and the public clearly grasp the scope of child exploitation cases across the U.S.
Behind every data point is a real child — a life shaped by safety, dignity, and the right to grow without fear. This report exists to ensure that the scale of the problem never overshadows its purpose: to protect children, support families, and empower the people working every day to prevent harm and restore safety.
By pairing data with clarity and compassion, this work helps turn information into action — and awareness into impact.
This project required balancing sensitivity, clarity, and scale—ensuring complex data and difficult subject matter could be understood by policymakers, educators, and the public without losing accuracy or compassion.
As Lead Designer at Creative 2, I focused on creating a system that supported storytelling through data, reinforced trust, and made the report accessible across audiences and formats.
The result was a digital experience that helped NCMEC communicate the scope of its work, the urgency of the issue, and the real outcomes achieved in 2023—while remaining respectful to the children and families at the center of the mission.
